QUALITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
We met up with Brent Rourke from "The Barn In Bloomfield" to get his take on the quality products they deal with and a few of the latest home trends they are noticing. He has a thriving business that has been organically created from a true desire from consumers for custom furniture and high end unique kitchen items. It's naturally evolved into that and much more these days including their custom fine crafted high quality kitchen cabinetry they find themselves installing in some of the most grand character homes in this area. We asked Brent at what point his business started feeling like a long term and full time business and what it looked like at that point. He told us “When I started the business it was a fulfillment of a long held ambition to work for myself so it felt to me like a full time business from the beginning. It was a bonus that it involved workworking, something I always had an interest in." One of his main selling products at that time was shaker oval boxes and carriers.
They're increasingly becoming the first name that people think of when considering who to hire to create their one of a kind kitchen. Brent had this to say about the latest kitchen trends that he experiences more and more people wanting incorporated in the design of their custom kitchen: “Most of what we make is high end inset cabinetry of various styles made to feel like furniture in the kitchen. For example we try quite hard to make the island feel like a stand alone piece of furniture.” He has worked for some of the who's who in this area who seek nobody but the best to do work in their homes.
After chatting with Brent for just a few minutes it was clear that he is truly passionate about the quality of their products and their installs. If The Barn In Bloomfield wasn't on your radar before now, do yourself a favour and pop in to see them and what unique products they have to offer in their shop, attend the next pop up market they host, or look them up on Instagram. What they have to offer might give you some design inspiration for an upcoming project of your own.
